If you’re planning on studying in Canada as an international student, the first and most important step is to obtain a letter of acceptance from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI). A DLI is a school that has been approved by the Canadian government to host international students. Without a letter of acceptance from a DLI, you won’t be able to apply for a study permit, which is required for most international students to study in Canada.

Obtaining a letter of acceptance can be a competitive process, especially for popular programs or institutions. Therefore, it’s important to start the application process as early as possible to ensure you have enough time to submit all required documentation and meet the application deadlines. Additionally, you should make sure that the school you’re applying to is a DLI, as this is a crucial requirement for your study permit application.

As a rule of thumb, we should process your LOA as soon as you are decided which program you want to take. We should prepare your application one week before the school starts to accept applications, especially if you plan to enroll in one of the international student hotspot schools.
